Lesson Information
Location
All lessons will be taught in my home studio in Tarragindi, conveniently located a short 10-min drive from the Brisbane CBD. All students will be taught on a full-sized Kawai grand piano. Online lessons are available but not recommended for optimal learning. I am a Queensland Blue Card holder.

Length
I recommend:
30-minute lessons for students aged 6-8 years
45-minute lessons for students 8+ years
60-minute lessons for more serious students of any age.
Schedule and Frequency
Children lessons: Weekly lessons on weekdays throughout the year.
Adult lessons: Weekly lessons on weekdays throughout the year. Fortnightly lessons only available for very advanced students.
There will be 1 to 2 public studio recitals per year for students to perform in.
Occasional group classes will occur for students to perform for one another.
Expectations of students
I expect students to be practicing daily (5-7 days a week, at least 30 minutes a day)
I expect students to come to lessons prepared and have a positive attitude.
Expectations of parents
Family support is very important for progress. I expect parents to encourage their child to practice regularly, help them set up a routine and create a comfortable learning environment.
I expect the family will be engaged in supporting their child’s journey to learning music and the piano and to assist them to get to and from their lessons.
Expectations of the teacher
I will provide knowledge, materials and a positive learning environment for students to appreciate and enjoy music.
I will prepare each lesson and tailor the curriculum to suit individual learning styles for the best outcome.
I will help students learn in the way that is best for them to help them reach their musical goals.
Tuition Rates
Tuition rates vary based on the current ability of the student and the amount of preparation required for the lesson.
Tuition rate is a monthly flat rate, whether there are 3 or 5 lessons in the month.
Prices range from $170/month (beginner 30 minutes lesson) to $466/month (advanced 60 minutes lesson).
Casual lessons can be arranged at $130 for a 60 minute lesson.
All prices include GST.
Tuition is a 12 month commitment and fees are payable each month. The tuition fees is reflective of the lesson time and also the customised learning and preparation required for each student.
